  • IE TCD MS 1706/1 is a catalogue of tulips, illustrated and with prices: “Alckmaarse Lusthoff van Tulpaanen, ofte Verkooping van een Parteÿ Tulpaanen, binnen Alckmaar den 5 February 1637.” Folios 3-66 have tulips (with inscriptions in Dutch but no prices inscribed); the list with the prices and weight is on two sides of a folio at the front of the volume.

  • The Fagel Collection was purchased by Trinity College Dublin in 1802. Hendrik Fagel (1765-1838), a senior Dutch politician, was in difficult circumstances, exiled in England during the Napoleonic Wars; and he was obliged to sell his family’s magnificent library, formerly in The Hague.
