  • IE TCD MS 28/2, Isaiah palimpsest, 5/6th centuries. The older text is Isaiah 30.2 - 31.7, 36.17 - 38.1 in Greek (so T.K. Abbott in Par palimpsestorum Dublinensium ) T.K. Abbott says in his Par palimpsestorum Dublinensium that 'this manuscript is cited as Codex VIII in Holmes and Parsons edition of the Septuagint'. Lagarde, Genesis graece, Vorwort p12 cites this manuscript as O; Swete cites it as O; Rahlfs, Verzeichnis gives its siglum as 918 (and he also gives the preceding information on Lagarde Genesis graece, and on Swete), as also does Ziegler. It is not cited by Rahlfs in the introduction to his edition of the Septuagint (Stuttgart reprint) 15 1/8 pages of writing of ?thirteenth century (some parts of pages cut away are assumed to have had writing).Grey-brown morocco boards, rolled in blind, decorated with four 'roses' on each board. Formerly bound with MS 28/1 (Patristic texts) and MS 32; but MS 28/2 and MS 32 were extracted between 1880 and 1886. Description by Dr. Barbara Crostini.
