Resumen
  • IE TCD MS 11320 is a notebook, possibly a field notebook, which belonged to James Goodman (1828-1896). It contains a collection of 'Irish pipe music' with the title and the first bars of each tune. It includes also the words of many other songs, and some press cuttings. Also present are a number of religious notes and cuttings on, for example, the ‘Protestant church views of the sacrament of Baptism’, and ‘on the subject of absolution’. A number of financial notes are also included, pertaining to Goodman’s wife Charlotte (nèe King). The date on the cover is 1857; the financial notes are from the 1860s. Much of the material was originally written in pencil and later overwritten in pen. The notebook’s spine bears the title 'Ledger'; the remains of a brass clasp are present.
