Abstract
  • No. 21, pages 89-92. Lisnegarvy, 15 Feb. 1639 91640 n.s.] Original; fragment of seal. Letter of the Bishop of Down [Henry Leslie] to Lord Cromwell. He agrees to Cromwell’s request for a lease for six years of the Court Ground and Hay Island at the rent of £10, on condition that Cromwell surrenders his claim to the Bishops’s Island. Recounts in amusing detail his troubles with Dean [William Coote]. The Bishop of Derry [John Bramhall] is to be arbitrator.
