Abstract
  • No. 29, pages 125-128. 1 May 1661. Contemporary copy?Endorsed: “E. Wingfield Ardglass’s instructions to his agent or receiver Mr. Nicholas Turk.” 1. Preserve the Lord’s privileges re fishing, fowling, hawking, etc., and punish offenders. 2. Prosecute concealed tithes, lands, tenements and privileges. 3. Preserve all privileges of courts leet and baron. 4. Summon the tenants of Mr. John Buckworth to do suit at the courts leet and Baron of Downpatrick. 5. Carry out a survey of all leases etc. in the manor of Downpatrick.6. Let the Lough of Down, including the bridge, for 41 years. 7. You and my brother Oliver Cromwell are to consider the petitions of Robert Ecklin clerk, James Hamill gent, Colin Maxwell gent, Patrick Mc. Moylayne and Jane Morse widow for an abatement of rent. 8. Raised the rents to the old values.9. Follow all suite so law brought against me.
